Sniff

My dogs like to use their noses more than any other dogs I've ever had. They're constantly sniffing objects and the air. Where other dogs I had would greet me at home and sniff to see where I'd been, giving me an  accusing look when I smelled like another dog, Loki and Thor seem to relish it, like I've brought home tasty treats. Weird, I know.

Here, Thor is sniffing the grass in our back yard. As a game with them, we'll throw small dog biscuits into the grass so that they can go hunt them down. This is especially fun in the winter when there's snow on the ground. The treat could be buried under 6 inches of fluffy snow, and they'll still find it, enjoying the search the whole time.

  1. That sounds like a very fun game. Sometimes my Mommie hides dry food pellets around the house so I can have fun searching for them.
