Wordless Wednesday: More San Francsico

Here are three photos from my trip to San Francisco last week. The first is of various mushrooms inside a store at the Ferry building. The second is of the Bay Bridge taken from behind the Ferry building.

This last photo is of the fortune cookie factory in China Town. It's a little hole-in-the-wall place off a back alley. You literally walk in the door and you're in the middle of the factory watching this lady make cookies.

Looks like you had a wonderful trip. And glad to hear you all were safe from the storm as well.

  4. Somehow I imagined a more high-tech sort of factory that made those cookies!

  7. @Cromely -- Thanks. And I hate mushrooms, too, but it was really cool to see all the varieties lined up like that. I have some other shots on Flickr that show a bigger variety, but the composition is not so nice.

@The Hunter's Wife -- The trip was wonderful. Wish I was still there. :) And I'm definitely happy that storm has come and gone, leaving us nothing but a few scary memories and a broken tree.

@Princess Vein -- Thanks. And I'll be checking out yours as well.

@Daisy -- Me too. I think that's one of the reasons I like to drag people there. You can't really see it well in the photo, but she has a little jar asking for 50 cents per photos. She gets her photo taken a lot.

    @June -- I love there too.

@CastoCreations -- Thanks. As for the wordless part, I've decided that I'm going to treat it like a stand-alone photo in a newspaper (my background). While it doesn't have a full story that goes with the photo, it still needs a caption. That's my philosophy. :)

Awesome photos Haley :) I really ca n't wait to get to SF. I love mushrooms but I don't recognise those at all!

Can you taste the fresh fortune cookies? Or does she bite your hand off? hehehe

  9. @fragileheart -- Thanks. It's a really fun city. As for the fortune cookies, she has a bin of fresh rejects (mostly disks that didn't get folded) right there, and she'll usually give you samples from the bin. Very fresh. They also sell fresh cookies in the shop, plus you can write a custom fortune and have custom fortune cookies made up, for a fee, of course. :)

  10. Custom fortunes! FUN!! heheh I'd make up all sorts of ones with 'in bed' after all of them. Have you ever played that game?

  11. Nice photos you've got there. Have a great weekend!

  12. I like the idea of a custom fortune cookie.

I guess a lot of people use them for bold romantic gestures and the like.

  13. @fragileheart -- I play that game all the time! I think the fortune cookie factory shown here does actually sell some adult-themed fortunes.

@Nita -- Thanks! Hope you had a good weekend, too.

@Tam -- So do I. We gave one as a gift when friends got married. I could easily see it used as a device to propose marriage.

  15. @Don -- Thanks! That compliment carries a lot of weight, coming from you. I just wish the guy's shoulder wesn't in there. Maybe I should crop it.

Great photos, Haley. I'll be in SF this weekend, so I'll be sure to check out some of the places you visited. Inspiration Point looks cool.
