In honor of my current trip to San Francisco, I pulled out a few old photos I took when we lived in San Francisco back in 2001.
These giant legs were over a store at Haight and Ashbury streets. I have no clue if they're still there. It's one of my favorite quirky photos of the city.
This photo was taken at Land's End. It's right at the tip of the San Francisco peninsula overlooking the strait where the San Francisco Bay meets the Pacific Ocean, which is the Golden Gate that the bridge is named for. My friend Caela is taking a photo of the sunset while laying on the ruins of an old public bathroom that's fallen with the cliffside and has subsequently been graffitied. This was my first photo excursion with my first digital camera.

It's been a year since I was last up in San Francisco... My g/f and I went up there for a conference and spend an extra day there. It was awesome! I loved the city and wouldn't mind going back :-p
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit of a pain getting used to the driving up there but it still beats LA traffic if you ask me (at least that's what I remember).
@HapiBlogging -- Happy Blogging to you, too.
ReplyDelete@Ricardo -- Having driven in San Francisco a lot, I'll say that it's definitely a better walking town. I wish I'd alloted an extra day this trip, because there is so much to do there.
we visited San Francisco in 2001 - great city. happy ww
ReplyDeleteCool Pictures!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
I love CA no matter how ya slice it - awesome fotos.
ReplyDeleteThose legs look so real. Kind of creepy!
ReplyDeleteHa! Wow, that's really neat! :D and great angle, too. Were the legs part of a store or something? hehe
ReplyDeleteWhat does that store sell (with the legs)? I hope it's still there now and whenever it is that I get to go to SF. I have to say your Wordless Wednesdays are always my favourite. I know the whole point is that it's supposed to be Wordless but I don't like having to ask details about photos!
ReplyDeleteWish I had those legs!
ReplyDeleteTwitter has something trying to get everyone to log in on your site. I don't use it so it's just mildly annoying.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. I'm not sure what the store sells. I'm not even sure if it's still there.
ReplyDelete@Laura -- Thanks for the heads up on the Twitter thing. I think I fixed it. Let me know if it still prompts for login.
