Code Monkey

It's probably because it has familiar characters in a familiar setting with a love interest and a lot of humor, but I really like this song: Code Monkey.

Dave and I stumbled on the song on Friday, and it's already a favorite.

Code Monkey have every reason
To get out this place
Code Monkey just keep on working
See your soft pretty face
Much rather wake up, eat a coffee cake
Take bath, take nap
This job "fulfilling in creative way"
Such a load of crap
Code Monkey think someday he have everything even pretty girl like you
Code Monkey just waiting for now
Code Monkey say someday, somehow

If you follow the link above you can listen to the song online.

"What's a code monkey?" you ask? See this definition.

More special dates

Yet another cluster of special occasions to mark.

Today is my wedding anniversary -- lucky number 13. Happy Anniversary Dave. :-)

There are also birthdays for JC, Auntie Donna, my godson Adam, and my nephew "Louis". Happy Birthday.

We're waiting for good news about a new neice/nephew "Peanut" to be born (due two days ago).

Wishing continued improvement to Rick who is recovering from major, major surgery.

And, thinking about the Red Dog, who went to the bridge five years ago today.

(I'm not sure which I feel more like: A morning weatherman reading off a list of announcements, or that lady from Romper Room who held up the mirror and listed different kids' names every week. I swear, she saw every kid but never a "Haley". LOL)

My new most viewed photo -- Feet?

A lot of people must be searching for photos of feet on Flickr, because in the space of 24 hours, this photo became my most-viewed picture. When you look closely at it, the photo isn't even well focused.

I like the photo because it's of my family and it represents all of us being on the beach together in Australia. I posted it because I was looking for a photo to represent the letter "U" for a Flickr group called By The Letter.

Oh well. Any guesses which foot is mine? ;-)

On a side note, I've been meaning to post for a while. I have topics in mind, including My worst nightmare actually turned out kind of funny and My first business trip and Huh. CVICU has been redecorated. Yea.

Oh, and then there are those cute kittens to write about.

It's all about marketing

Blogger has this new(er) feature that allows me to conduct polls. So, I'm conducting two polls (see right sidebar) quizzing you about book titles.

Why? Because even before I can hope to sell a book, I have to get an editor or agent's attention. That requires marketing - and my book title is part of my brand. (Yeah, yeah, I know that the title will most likely be changed if/when I sell the project and it goes to print, but why not try to start out strong?)

Plus, polls are fun.

So, please vote.

And feel free to leave me a comment if you have other ideas for book titles. (I'd be worried about opening up a can of worms, but I only average about three unique visitors a day, plus people hardly ever leave me comments. LOL)
